Combine a friendship that started as children, mix in a desire to control one's own destiny, throw in hard work, determination, creativity, and the mentality of a river boat gambler, mix it all together with pride and love and you have the essence of Ethel & Myrtle, Inc.
Stemming from a need for financial independence and the desire to be more successful, Brenda Engel and Nancy Shely (alias Ethel & Myrtle) launched their fashion jewelry & accessory business in the spring of 1991. Starting with a line of their own designs, a limited budget and a lofty goal of $2,000 in monthly sales, these two women embarked on a new career. Exceeding their sales goals in two days, they jumped onto the fast track of success. In the spring of 2000, Rick Engel joined Ethel & Myrtle. In the fall of 2003 Kathryn Mathews joined Ethel & Myrtle. They are now a vital part of this successful business.
Today Ethel & Myrtle, Inc. offers over 3,000 different styles in each Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter collection. The company is located in Humble, Texas in an 18,000 square foot warehouse facility with over 30 employees. They have a glamorous atrium showroom in the Dallas World Trade Center and a sales force that covers the entire United States.
Brenda, Nancy, Rick and Kathryn attribute their success to the unique quality line of fashion jewelry and accessories, merchandising capabilities, personalized customer service and competitive pricing. Ethel & Myrtle's strong customer base of over 4,000 is a testimony to the individual attention given to each buyer's unique needs.
